Point Loma Nazarene Rohr Science Building Remodel
In early 2017, B&G Consultants was retained by PLNU to be their Owner’s Representative/Construction Manager on the complete interior remodel of the 30,000-square-foot Rohr Science Bldg. The facility houses the primary classroom, lab, and faculty offices spaces for the Engineering, Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Kinesiology departments. The overall scope of work included comprehensive hazardous materials and structural demolition, full MEP replacement, and a complete new buildout of the cast-in-place cold shell. B&G assisted in generating the RFP for general contracting services, formulating the project-wide budget and garnering approval through the school’s Board of Trustees, and working with the PLNU facilities team to make sure all project controls and project schedules aligned with the academic calendar and faculty requirements. B&G also assisted in helping coordinate several Owner vendors, including a very large FF&E package. Carrier Johnson is the architect on the project, and final completion is scheduled for December, 2018.
