The large concrete vaults which integrate into the pier-and-deck platform of the Brigantine Portside Pier Project are being cast at the dockside yard on San Diego Bay, to be installed at the project site. B&G’s client, the Morton Family, are one of the most recognizable restauranteurs in all of San Diego, and we are excited to begin friction collar/falsework installation for the main restaurant platform. These vaults will drop into place within depressed blockouts cast with the platform slab, and will function as the restaurant grease interceptor, storm drain and sewer basins, and primary electrical service points, respectively. Each vault weighs approximately 70,000 lbs. Pacific Building Group is the general building contractor, with R.E. Staite constructing the driven piles and platform. Tucker-Sadler is the project architect. Completion of the project is scheduled for late 2019.
